Holistic Montessori Approach

CLASSES WE OFFER

AGE-APPROPRIATE CURRICULUM

BABY GROUP

This programme provides a support system for parents with children from twelve months to eighteen months.

The period from birth to three years is crucial for intellectual growth, as it is when a child begins to develop the ability to think, reason, and understand the world around them.

While brain development is influenced by genes and biology, the environment and interactive processes have tremendous effects on the quality of the foundation built, and have a direct impact on future outcomes.

There is a greater plasticity of the brain within the early years, which means that the quality of cognitive advancement is modifiable by the inputs, opportunities, learning experiences, and type of responsive care provided.

Our caregivers utilize playful, meaningful interactions with the babies, that focus on building their attention, strengthening their working memory, and developing essential self-control.

Daily routines provide opportunities to teach object permanence, motor skills, and mimicking sounds and actions. Activities include Story Time, Soft Play, Tummy Time Activities, Singing, Music and Movement, and Sensory Play to introduce textures.

PLAY GROUP

This programme provides a support system for parents with children from one and a half years to three years. During this time, children are developing a sense of autonomy. They are driven by an innate desire to discover things. It is also a time of great confusion for parents as their toddler exerts their will for independence, test boundaries, and struggle to understand and deal with their emotions.

Children try to communicate with both verbal and nonverbal cues. We educate parents on the developmental norms for their child’s physical, emotional, and cognitive development. Our parenting skills sessions address all topics relevant to child-rearing practices.

As this is very much a tactile period for children, we provide a safe and nurturing environment where children can learn and discover through the manipulation of objects during play.

This period is crucial for language development and other early literacy skills. Children develop an understanding of action, consequence, time, and place. They begin to pick up on social cues and cultural norms.

Emotional literacy forms the foundation of our curriculum, where we assist parents in developing the skills they need to help their children through this process. Building a solid foundation for emotional literacy enables children to tolerate frustration better and engage in less self-destructive, anti-social, aggressive and defiant behavior. By targeting these Social Emotional skills in young children, we provide a framework for developing healthier, less impulsive, more focused children with greater success in social interaction with others and higher academic achievement.

PRESCHOOL

This program offers a support system for parents of children aged three to five years. Through observation, we design each child’s Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) within a curriculum that supports meaningful interactions in a literacy-rich environment.

Our Creative Curriculum provides a nurturing environment where play-based, active learning is incorporated into both our themed projects and IEP’s. Our Montessori educational principles not only encompass the principles of STEM education through didactic, self-exploratory learning, but also place family partnership at the heart of our approach.

Our curriculum extends the STEM focus of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics by incorporating literacy, social and cultural studies, geography and environmental awareness, creative arts, and music.  Spanish, dance, kids’ aerobics, and music and movement are included in our curriculum to provide children a well-rounded, high quality, comprehensive educational experience.

Our Curriculum utilizes a research-based approach that enhances skill progression by providing one-to-one correspondence between teacher and child, where teaching strategies are adapted to meet each child’s individual learning style. Attention is paid to language development, focusing on articulation and grammar so that receptive and expressive language skills develop, fostering vital communication skills and confident lifelong learners.
